A 12-year-old boy in Bijnor’s Pawti village took his life by hanging himself with his mother’s sari after being dissatisfied with a pair of sandals his father bought for his school’s Republic Day event. His family assured him the sandals would be replaced, but he retreated to his room and hanged himself.
